Environmental Spatial Analysis

The Department of Environmental & Spatial Analysis (ESA) offers an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree with a pathway in Environmental, Earth & World Studies, and Spatial Science & Engineering, a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Spatial Analysis, and minors in Earth Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Geospatial Science and Technology, and Space Studies. ESA also offers certificate programs in Earth Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geographic Information Science, Geospatial Intelligence, Land Surveying, and Space Studies.

These programs have a foundation in geospatial technology including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and global positioning systems (GPS). Geospatial technology is used for creating, capturing and analyzing, displaying and managing geographically referenced information. Geospatial skills have practical applications across a broad selection of disciplines. A variety of concentrations are available within this program of study, including but not limited to Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Information Technology, and Engineering. Students who have successfully completed this program have gained employment in the public and private sectors as well as matriculated to graduate degree programs at UNG and other major universities.
