The Mike Cottrell College of Business Department of Management & Information Systems offers Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degrees in Management and Information Systems and Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree in Technology Management. Upper-level courses supporting the Management degree are available on the Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Online campuses. Upper-level courses supporting the Information Systems degree are available on the Dahlonega campus. Upper-level courses supporting the Technology Management degree are offered at Gainesville. This department also houses several associate-level courses that apply toward the Associate of Arts (A.A.) with a pathway in Business Administration.

The Management major prepares students to plan, organize, lead, and control businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Students are trained in human resource management, organizational behavior, labor relations, operations, small business, and other topical areas of business. The leadership aspects of this major are fundamental to motivating and understanding the human resource aspects of organizations. The Management Department offers the BBA degree with concentrations in Business Leadership, Entrepreneurship, General Management, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

The degree and courses in Information Systems prepare graduates for high-tech careers in the thriving fields of information systems and information technology in businesses and organizations of all sizes. As a B.B.A. student majoring in Information Systems, you’ll gain a powerful combination of tech expertise and business insight. You’ll develop in-demand skills in areas like application development, systems analysis and design, networking, database management, Analytics and Visualization, and IT project leadership — all within the context of how businesses operate and compete. Whether you want to innovate with data, design smarter systems, or lead tech-driven transformations — this program gives you the tools to make it happen.

In order to complete a B.B.A. in Management or Information Systems, students must meet the Admission to Upper Division requirements for the Mike Cottrell College of Business prior to enrolling in most 3000/4000 level courses. Students must also complete the student professional development program Professional Roadmap to Ongoing Success (PROS) 90 days prior to graduation.

The Department of Management & Information systems also offers minors in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Information Systems.
