* Students whose major instrument is piano or are competent to exempt these courses must substitute two courses in MUSC 25XX (1 hour) to complete Area F. Courses Required for the Major 60 hours
Required Music Courses 28 hours
* Students whose major instrument is piano or are competent to exempt these courses must substitute two courses in MUSC 25XX (1 hour) to complete the Required Music Courses. Music Electives 11 hours
- Music Ensembles (e.g. Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Singers) - (3 hours)
- Music Electives (Chosen in consultation with the academic adviser) - (8 hours)
Liberal Arts Courses 15 hours
- Under the direction of the academic advisor and subject to approval by the Head of the Department of Performing Arts, the student will select an elective course of study in the liberal arts which may constitute a minor in another discipline or an approved combination of courses suited particularly to the student’s academic needs. At least nine hours in this area must be at the 3000-4000 level.
Modern Language 3 hours
- Language Course - 2000-level or above (3 hours)
General Elective 3 hours
- A 3-hour course in any subject 1000-level or above (3 hours)
