Gerontology Minor


The Gerontology Minor is designed to enable students at the undergraduate level to obtain a minor in 2-3 semesters of course work. Students will complete a total of fifteen (15) semester hours of upper level undergraduate courses to meet the requirements of the minor. The Gerontology minor is a fully on-line program.

Students will complete a total of fifteen (15) semester hours of upper level undergraduate courses to meet the requirements of the Minor. Three (3) of the hours must come from introduction to aging classes. Nine (9) hours must come from Gerontology electives. Additionally, students select three (3) hours from the following capstone offerings: a supervised Practicum Experience (GERO 3581) or a Research Experience (GERO 3681) with a faculty member working in any area of Gerontology, or in a Gerontology setting. A faculty member in the Gerontology program must approve the practicum or research experience.
