Strategic and Security Studies (B.A.)


The Bachelor of Arts in Strategic and Security Studies is a comprehensive degree program that offers students five concentrations from which to select: Cybersecurity, History, International Affairs, Languages, or Military Science. Each concentration builds upon a foundation of language learning through the 2002 level in Area F as well as additional foundational courses focusing on internationalization from different disciplinary perspectives.

The program of study is comprised of an 18 hour interdisciplinary Common Curriculum that focuses on Military History, Political Science, and Geography courses. Each of the five tracks requires 21 credit hours; the Study Abroad/Internship requirement is 9-15 hours, depending on contact hours; and there are 6-12 hours for electives.

Strategic and Security Studies (SSST) students are required to have a grade of “C” or higher in all POLS classes in order to graduate with the degree.
