Area of Concentration


Students must choose a minimum of six credit hours from one concentration and six credits from a second concentration.

Interdisciplinary Studies Concentration Areas (that contain 1000 and 2000 level courses)

  1. Fine and Performing Arts: Art, Interdisciplinary Fine Arts, Film/Media Studies, Music, and Theatre
  2. Natural Sciences: Agriculture, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geography, Geology, Physics, Environmental Science (ESCI & ENVE), Neurology, and Poultry Sciences (POUL)
  3. Social Sciences: Appalachian Studies, Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Diversity, Environmental Studies (ENST) History, Gender Studies, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology
  4. Business: Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing
  5. Military Science & Leadership: Military Science and pre-approved Leadership courses
  6. Humanities: Communication, English, Journalism, Modern Languages (MLAN and all foreign languages), and Philosophy
  7. Mathematics/Technology: Mathematics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, and Geographic Information Systems
  8. Health & Human Services: Health, Human Services Delivery & Administration, Kinesiology, Nursing, Social Work, and Teacher Education
