Nursing (BSN)

Location(s): Dahlonega, Gainesville

120 hours

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is a traditional four-year program for students with no nursing licensure who want to become a registered nurse. Students who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree in an area outside of Nursing may apply to the BSN program as a post baccalaureate student through the Accelerated BSN path outlined below, which shortens the time to degree and licensure.

Through rigorous classes, practice in our simulation labs, and intensive clinical experiences, you’ll be prepared to be a nurse generalist with knowledge and skills to practice in acute and community settings.

By the time you graduate, you’ll be eligible to sit for the licensure exam (NCLEX) required for practice as a registered nurse.

Program requirements for the BSN and ABSN admission paths are found below.  More information about program requirements can be found on the BSN webpage: https://ung.edu/degrees/bachelors/nursing.php

ABSNT Provisional Acceptance

Accelerated BSN Applicants who do not meet the published admission criteria can be admitted as provisional after review and recommendation by the BSN Admission Committee. Provisional students will be admitted as non-degree seeking for 14 credits (one semester) and not eligible for financial aid. If the student earns a “C” or higher in all four courses attempted during the provisional semester, they will be changed to regular admission status and will progress in the ABSNT plan of study. If the student earns a grade of “D” or “F” in any course attempted during the provisional semester, the ABSNT Coordinator will notify the student that they will not be allowed to continue in the ABSN program track.
