GEOL 1250 - Physical Geology An introductory study of the materials composing the earth; the composition and distribution of these materials; and the geologic processes involved in the formation, alteration, and deformation of these materials. Topics covered include minerals, rocks, igneous and metamorphic processes, weathering, erosion, sedimentation, evolution of landform, and tectonics.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: READ 0099. Corequisite: GEOL 1250L.

Location Offered: Gainesville and Oconee
Notes: All lecture and lab courses have a separate number and grade; therefore, if the lab is required with the lecture, they must be taken concurrently. The only exception is if one component (lecture or lab) is passed and the other failed, only the failed portion need be repeated. Lecture and lab must be taken on the same campus when taken concurrently.
