SOCI 3200 - Sociology of Gender


Considers issues of gender from a sociological perspective.  We will focus on the construction of gender, gender socialization, practices, and gender-based inequalities in the contemporary United States.  Specifically, we will examine the influence of gender of interpersonal relationships, at work, in education, and in education, and in other areas of life.

Prerequisite/Corequisite:
Prerequisite:  SOCI 1101 or SOCI 1160 or persmission of instructor.

This course will not be a part of the core curriculum, but will count as a 3-hour upper level elective for some four-year programs.
