EDUC 3002 - Educational Assessment An introduction to the principles of sound classroom assessment, showing how these principles apply to classroom decision-making. Students learn how to develop classroom assessments that are appropriate for the age and type of learner and match the objectives of instruction. Interpreting the standardized tests that are used in the public schools is also covered. Classroom assessment is an ongoing process through which teachers and students interact to promote greater learning. Students in this course learn and use a range of classroom assessment strategies to (1) help make decisions about teaching and learning and (2) gather information about student performance and behavior in order to diagnose students’ problems, monitor their progress, and provide feedback for improvement.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program.
