MATH 3100 - Number Systems This course is designed for teachers of grades K-8 and focuses on mathematics content, instructional strategies and materials, instructional technology, and assessment techniques appropriate for grades K-8. In addition, current issues, trends, and relevant publications in mathematics education are examined. Topics include problem-solving strategies; sets, counting, and logic; numeration systems, operations, and algorithms; integers and number theory; rational and irrational numbers; exponents and decimals; ratio, proportion, and percent; exponents and decimals; direct and inverse variation; and special sets of numbers.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program; six hours of college level mathematics
