MUED 4290 - Seminar in Music Education This course is a synthesis culmination course for the music education degree which explores the philosophies, teaching methods, materials, and curriculum for a comprehensive music program. Focus will be on the design and implementation of the above elements at the secondary level (instrumental and vocal performance models, music theory, aural skills, music history) and the primary level (general elementary music). In addition to exploring teaching strategies and curriculum development, students will study content-specific evaluation tools and methodologies. Students will also be given practical guidance in the administration of a comprehensive music program. Additionally, students will complete field experience and assessments as required by the College of Education.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisites: Completion of all required lower-division MUSC courses, successful application to the College of Education, and completion of MUED 3210, MUED 4210, and MUED 4220
Corequisite: MUED 4280
