EDD 7108 - Globalization and Higher Education This course examines the emerging relationships and institutional partnerships that are transpiring in higher education due to globalization. The concept of globalization is introduced through multidisciplinary scholarship that interrogates technological developments, nation-state aspirations, and the intersection of global and local practices. The course also provides an overview of the changes that are taking place in international higher education. As part of this discussion, students will consider whether or not traditional institutions have the capacity, in their current configuration, to foster scientific progress, meet labor market needs, and serve traditionally marginalized communities.
