EDL 6001 - Building Leadership Capacity in Schools and Communities This course introduces the candidate to the research base that supports the knowledge and skills that effective principals need to know and be able to apply in K-12 schools. It has its central focus on collaborative mission and vision building with all stakeholders, understanding leadership styles, and using data analysis as a means to formulate a school improvement plan. This course builds expertise in employing data for a variety of school-improvement purposes, including instructional decision-making in grades K-12. The focus of this course is to ensure that leaders understand the importance of a shared vision and how it translates into data use and the inquiry process needed for effective school improvement plans.
