ATP 6103 - Emergency Care This course focuses on recognition and response to emergency medical conditions in Sports Medicine settings. Athletic Trainers are frequently the first medical professionals on the scene of athletic injuries and injuries related to physical activity. As such, ATs need to be able to recognize and respond in a manner to produce the best prognosis for the injured individual, potentially including life-saving measures. Students will learn essentials including but not limited to spine boarding, cardiac care, emergency airways, splinting, etc. This class is taken during the first semester of the MSAT program.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Athletic Training Program
