AUTM 6004 - Methods for Teaching Academics and Socialization to Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders This course is designed to examine the unique characteristics of and instructional methods used to teach students functioning on the higher end of the autism spectrum (Level ½; DSM-V), formally referred to as High-Functioning Autism and Asperger’s Disorder. Empirically-validated methods for teaching academics, communication, socialization, and behavioral flexibility will be discussed, as well as gaining understanding of how their disability may affect behavior and learning across environments.
