CSED 6002 - Fundamentals of Computer Science for Teachers This course will cultivate critical thinking skills by presenting a structured approach to computer science as problem solving discipline. This course is designed to give students strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks. It provides an overview of software applications and tools for managing content on physical computers, on the web, and in the cloud. This course will include a study of basic computer concepts, management information systems, data and file processing, networks, and the hardware available for meeting business needs. This course will also cover topics such as personal and networked information systems, security, privacy, and basic programming skills. The course emphasizes analytical thinking, and teaches problem-solving skills through an introduction of the fundamentals of computer science.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisites: Acceptance into the UNG Computer Science Endorsement program, including holding a T4 clear, renewable teaching certificate and either employment within or access to a k12 school, and CSED 6001 and EDUC 6020
