The Department of History, Anthropology, & Philosophy (HAP) offers an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree with a pathway in History and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees in East Asian Studies and History. The HAP Department also offers minors in Anthropology, Gender Studies, History, and Philosophy.
Students interested in pursuing secondary education teacher certification in history at the bachelor’s level should review the History Education (BSED) offered through the College of Education.
The Department’s academic programs prepare students for graduate study and employment in a range of fields. Its educational programs are structured to address community and professional needs.
Graduating majors are required to demonstrate their skills in oral and written communication, analytical precision, and competency in their field. In addition, graduating majors are expected to exhibit the ability to apply the knowledge and skills of their field to everyday situations.
A grade of “C” or higher is required in all courses required for the major.
