The Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Innovation equips students with the skills and tools essential for launching successful startups and driving corporate innovation. The program offers entrepreneurs a toolset for success, including best practices, mentorship opportunities, and interactive experiences in the dynamic world of startups and innovation. Recognizing the growing demand for innovative thinkers, this certificate empowers graduates with an entrepreneurial mindset, making them highly valued assets in organizations aiming for growth. The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Certificate is available for Mike Cottrell College of Business graduate students as well as external participants who have completed a graduate or undergraduate degree and want to add entrepreneurship knowledge and capabilities to their credentials. 

Overall Program Goals

  • Students will learn to apply and integrate critical and creative thinking techniques to identify, and evaluate innovative business opportunities, and will refine these ideas based on user feedback to meet market needs effectively.
  • Students will develop skills in designing and executing business models and adapting them to evolving market trends and technologies.
  • Students will learn to lead and manage innovation initiatives within a corporate setting, fostering an entrepreneurial culture and driving intrapreneurial efforts.

Admission Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (as defined in the Graduate Catalog).

Technology

Students are expected to:

  • Engage in electronic collaboration using email and the basic functions of software for online meetings (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
  • Develop proficiency with the learning management system(s) used to administer courses. 
  • Be competent using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).  
  • Have access to a personal computer (and not rely on cell phones, tablets, or Chromebooks) to run required software.

While the program is primarily asynchronous, online synchronous meetings may be required for program orientation and occasionally throughout the program.
