MATH 2008 - Foundations of Numbers and Operations for Teachers

This course is designed for K-8 pre-service teachers and emphasizes the understanding and use of the major concepts of number and operations. The course will focus on developing connections between the number system, place value, traditional algorithms, and alternative strategies. Extensive use of hands-on and online manipulatives will foster and assess conceptual understanding of topics.

Prerequisite: Three credits of college-level Mathematics with a grade of C or higher
