HIST 3184 - The New South A survey of economic, social, cultural and political developments in the South since the end of the Civil War. Special emphasis will be placed on the role of the nonwhites in Southern society starting with the adoption of the 14th and 15th Amendments during the Reconstruction Periods and going up through the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements of the second half of the 20th century.
