MDST 3820 - Documentary Cinema A cinema course that focuses on the methods by which nonfiction filmmakers develop, produce and distribute documentary films. Through a series of screenings, lectures, critiques, and class discussions, students will examine in-depth a variety of long- and short-form documentary projects. Special emphasis will be given to history, aesthetics, and ethics. Through case-studies, students will also analyze the process of nonfiction filmmaking as it relates to: pre-production, production, postproduction, and distribution models.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: COMM 2900, or permission of instructor
