RUSS 4610 - Advanced Russian I for International Relations, National Security, and Socio-Economics Taught in Russian, this course is the first part of the two-semester upper level Russian course which can be taken out of order. The course is meant to enhance Russian-learning experience through learning to communicate on the politics and business related topics. Students are assumed to have had at least four continuous semesters of Russian, as the prerequisite for the course is RUSS 3002 with a grade not lower than C. The course goal is improving students’ reading, speaking, listening and grammatical skills. The present course focuses on the discussion of such directly applicable topics as Meetings and Negotiations, World Economy, Economic Development, Business and Finance, Nuclear Nonproliferation, Military Operations, and Elections.
